Idk. I was given this exercise post op about week 3.
Strange , I was informed by Dr Doug McGuff that one of the issues of impingement and Rotator cuff problems stems from a wide grip ,that places the tendon in a narrow groove . The safest way to perform a pull down is a underhand grip and narrow (in the case of a woman due to cubitus valgus slightly wider , ) and much slower reducing to a minimum the force by reducing the acceleration albeit relatively small , in rehab every bit helps to offset more injury ! Usually 10secs up and down is the minimum so the loading at that speed is less severe . Hope that helps , the scapula pulls are best served bent over row style but with parallel grip .

When I do Lat pull down and almost at top of movement and when I exert strength to pull, I can feel my left shoulder unstable and dislocation or weakness completely there. How should I do the Lat pull down then as this is definitely good exercise for the lats
Bro do pull ups get a band and do wide grip of posible do it on a power tower it’s wide the bar and then you’ll see you’ll learn to use this machine hangin helps pain on shoulder good luck get some liquid chalk for grip

@ProdFuriousBeats I worked on the infraspinitus muscle. I also trained some impingement exercises and movement patterns as well. If you do those, you should be good, my man! Just search for some exercises on here and you'll know where to go from there.

Hi there! I suffered a patellar (kneecap) dislocation a few months ago, and have had to be aware of my knees ever since. This exercise would case me extreme knee pain and possibly another dislocation. If it hurts, I would recommend you stop doing it. I’ve had rotator cuff surgery on 5/17/20. Also bicep tendons inside shoulder plus bone impingement. I’m at 8 weeks and my shoulder still is tight, painful, limited motion. I’m going to PT 3 times a week and doing my stretching at home. I’m still sleeping in a chair. If your thinking of shoulder surgery don’t do it. Find another way to heal. It sucks.
